Justin

Six months before you hanged yourself We were sitting in the park Tearing apart yellow leaves between our fingers And you said, “You shouldn’t date writer’s Lisa, they’re too emotional.” You ironic bitch You know you’ve made it hard not to romanticise my youth You all have, the dead. My grief has calcified into diamonds. … Continue reading Justin

The month in pieces My bestie was here for 6 weeks and we drank, dined and were merry every week. .. And i still wrote a lot. Trying to maintain those balanced relaxation vibes now he's gone. On Fridays i don't work and instead sometimes I really enjoy how much everyone else is at work. Sorry all. Useful reminder of the heroine's journey and a snapshot of the writers headspace I've been in for the past couple of months. Showed my best friend the grounds around where i work. He pointed out they're pretty. Night markets sprang up around our acro jam. The novella is halfway drafted and I'm officially writing a romance. Have spent the week thinking about the alpha male trope, toxic masculinity and the way genre fiction is fairytales for grownups. Will see how it turns out in the end. #writingcommunity Things i learned from watching art this @fringeworldperth and some shows just before it: At the business of being a writer @perthfest. Lots of info on social media and media training. All pretty familiar thanks to 10 years in marketing and comms. Just try and keep me OFF Twitter (when I'm supposed to be writing)!
